**This one is NOT hair related and will be the only plea I make on this blog. Thanks for your support**
Dear Napturals,
On May 2nd I will be running my second half marathon, the One America 500 Festival Mini Marathon, in Indianapolis. I had so much fun last year that I decided to do it all over again! While running 13.1 miles will be a personal challenge, there is a bigger reason I am doing this. I am running to raise money to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s fight against blood cancers as a member of their Team in Training. Did you know that Leukemia is the number one killer among children and young adults? For this reason, finding a cure is very important to me.
In addition to running for the Society, I will be running for my local hero Juli. Juli just celebrated her 5 year remission from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) by participating in her first Team in Training event, the Walt Disney World Half-Marathon (Pretty awesome, huh?). In addition to honoring Juli, I'm also running to honor my friend and teammate, Melissa, who just celebrated 22 years as a survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
I’ve committed to raising a minimum of $1600 by April 3rd to help fund The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s research in finding a cure for leukemia and other blood-related cancers. Any donation you give to support my efforts would be greatly appreciated, but here’s a list of suggested amounts:
• $13.10 …………………... $1 for every mile I run
• $26.20 …………………... $2 for every mile I run
• $52.40 …………………... Funds someone to become a bone marrow donor
• $100.00 ……………......... The cost of 4 co-pays for chemotherapy treatment
• $500.00 ………………...... Provides financial aid to a patient for an entire year!
You may submit your donation safely and securely on my website using your credit or debit card:
Remember, every little bit you give will bring us one step closer to the ultimate finish line – a cure! I appreciate your help and look forward to receiving your generous contribution soon.
Best,
Timah
